A fitted garment is designed to sit streamlined to your body, with approximately 1-2” of room between the fabric and your body to ensure space and comfort. A fitted shirt or jumper tends to hug your body, intended to be worn as the first layer of your outfit without anything underneath.

A tailored garment sits looser than a fitted style but is still crafted to distinguish your body shape compared to a relaxed or regular-fitting design.

Regular-fit clothing sits further away from your body and lets you layer underneath with more room for movement. Some garments may adopt the term ‘comfort fit’ instead, however this is synonymous with regular-fitting clothes.

Relaxed-fitting garments offer the most spacious fit and are created to accommodate multiple layers of clothing. Alternatively, a relaxed shirt or t-shirt can be worn as a single layer to maximise space and freedom to move.
