What are the best warm wellies for women?
Choosing the right wellies can take time, depending on the intended function of your winter footwear. While some customers may prioritise a sleek, fashionable design, others prefer maximum warmth. To help prepare you for wetter or snowier days, here are our recommendations for keeping the cold away from your feet!
Grubs Frostline Neoprene Wellington

Experience warm, welly boots like never before with the Grubs Frostline Neoprene Wellington. This insulated boot is designed to keep your feet warm in temperatures down to -10°C. The footbed has a 6mm Nitrocell, providing insulation and cushioning, whilst the upper interior is constructed from a moisture-wicking knit inner liner composite and a 5mm thick layer of insulating Chloroprene.
A tough, textured nylon is on the outer upper area, with the lower calf areas featuring a 2mm thick layer of rubber. Not only do these features help to maximise protection from winter weather, but they also prevent the boots from becoming damaged by brambles or nettles.
This Grubs style is great for your winter look thanks to its insulation, water resistance and excellent grip, making dog walks and long days in the countryside cosy and dry for your feet.
Barbour Tempest Neoprene Wellington

The Barbour Tempest Neoprene Wellington is guaranteed to keep your feet warm throughout the winter, with its neoprene lining providing extra heat. This Tempest style is fitted with a cushioned insole to provide maximum comfort and warmth, with the outsole constructed with a firm grip to ensure stability and balance in snowy or icy conditions.
Available in classic olive green, these Barbour wellies can be adapted to your winter fashion, giving every dog walk or family day out in the snow a sophisticated, fashionable edge.

How to dry wellies
How you dry wellies may vary depending on the areas most affected by the winter weather. Commonly, the outside of your wellies will be susceptible to rain, snow and muddy terrains. While our wellies are designed to ensure their interiors remain dry, tougher adventures can sometimes mean that water manages to get in.
To keep your wellies as dry as possible, we have broken down drying techniques into sections so you can be sure of the best drying techniques, no matter the case.
How to dry the outside of your wellies
- Use a hose or a bucket of water to remove any loose dirt from your wellies. If there are any tougher stains or build-up of dirt, you can use a bristled brush to wipe them away. Be careful not to brush your wellies with too much pressure to avoid damaging the material.
- In a ventilated, cool space, air-dry your wellies. Ensure you do not expose them to heated facilities such as a radiator, as this will reduce the quality of the rubber.
- For a speedier process, gently dry down your wellies with a towel. Only begin your wipe-down when you have fully removed the dirt. Failure to do so may cause dirt to respread, making the experience repetitive.
How to dry the inside of your wellies
- For a better finish, remove the insoles of your wellies and handwash these separately using warm, soapy water and a microfibre cloth. Only apply a necessary amount of water to your insoles; over-absorption could result in loss of quality.
- Soak another microfibre cloth in warm, soapy water and wipe down the interior of your wellies. Avoid placing the wellies in water as this will take longer to dry and may damage them.
- Air dry your insoles and wellies overnight, and do not place them near a heat source, as this will affect their exterior.
- Once your wellies are dry, the rubber’s natural oils may have risen to the surface, producing a white powder. Simply wipe this away with a dry cloth.
Are wellies good for snow?
Wellies are a practical and reliable choice of footwear for snowy conditions thanks to their waterproof qualities and firm grip.
As highlighted in our products above, many of our wellies contain a neoprene lining or other insulation, keeping your feet warm throughout the winter.
We recommend purchasing a pair of wellies as a staple for your winter wardrobe so you can embark on the coldest adventures with full assurance that your feet will stay comfortable, protected, and dry.
